I NOW LIVE IN THE EX SOVIET UNION I find the old medals here FASCINATING. They had a medal for "Not being arrested for being drunk for 2 months in a row" One for "Saving a man from being electrocuted at work" which kinda implies BEING electrocutes was common enough to require a medal when it DIDNT happen. One day I hope to research how much the "social" medals actually meant to people, did it REALLY help the alcoholic to get that "not arrested" medal, or was it meaningless..??? Did the farmer cherish his "Excellent grain production 5 years in a row" medal or was it tat to him??? Its so far outside OUR experience to be awarded a medal at a ceremony in the centre of town for "Mending 100 cars this month" or whatever. OH and YES some of them are staggeringly beautiful, this one is quite dull actually.

@wilmagregg3131 - look up "liquid salt reactors" they are inherently safe - so safe it was the interns and students that used to run the research reactor in the USA. Only they don't provide bomb-making byproducts so they were scrapped in favour of PWR and Fast Breeder Reactors cos the military wanted the big bangs not the safe energy. You can set a molten salt reactor to go super critical - go home for the hight and in the morning it will have reset its self to steady-state - you CAN NOT induce criticality

My [ex] friend works as a chemist in the synthetic fabric industry in the Netherlands - they know for a FACT that the plastic, cos thats what it is you are wearing plastic wrapping, leached harmful and especially hormone-mimicking chemicals into your skin. This is worse when you are hot and sweaty i.e. Gem gear. They are trying to find a solution before it blows up in the media. NO one in the fashion industry or the fabric industry wears synthetic fibre.
