Wear a vest, a shirt, a wool vest, a jumper, and a cardigan, wool trousers and on the coldest days and wool throw over your legs. Buy a new fridge / freezer if it is old - old ones are terrible for energy. Turn lights off - even if they are LED. Only heat 1 room in the house, you don't NEED the kitchen to be hot to make a sandwich..!!! But WOOL BLANKETS for the bed and don't heat the bedrooms. Turn off ALL electronics you are not using and unplug them - don't leave the printer on cos you MIGHT print something. Unplug all phone chargers when not in use I used to live off grid with just a small stove in one room and power from a wind turbine. You learn how to save every Jule of energy, and its quite easy - you can cut 50% of your energy bill very VERY easily. You get used to the cold - it becomes nice to be in warm clothes in a house that is 15ºC - toughen up people - its good for you.
