  3. TO BE HONEST thats not far from the truth - my last salary in the UK was £65k in 2002 - thats the equivalent of £152,400.00 today. I was 32 and sold boardroom systems to large PLC's and lecture theatres to universities - NOT run the country. The salaries for UK politicians are utter crap - what is the PM about £170k? And an MP is about £85k. They only SEEM good cos everyone else's salaries have gone DOWN so badly

  7.  @ForthviewDevelopments  I mostly agree with what you are saying. I think an MP should get £150 to £200l and the PM £350k - AND NO 2ND JOBS No gifts, no loans, no endless private jet travel. They should have Merc Sprinter vans that are mobile offices [have you seen them?? Super cool]. The government should own houses in London for the use of MP's - NO renting your sister's house and putting it on expenses. You get a GOOD salary for serving your constituents and that is YOUR ONE AND ONLY JOB.

  8.  @ForthviewDevelopments  2/2 - The thing is - they cant do this cos they cant have the salary so many multiple times the UK average. The PM's salary has NOT kept pace with execs in industry, if he worked in a law firm he would be on £500k And that is the problem - working wages have gone DOWN at the same time PMC and exec wages have skyrocketed. So they have to let MP's have all these perks and off the books subsidies to make up for the crap wages compared to what they would get as a lawyer or accountant or CEO

  9.  @ohboyz222  I agree - at the moment we have this kind of half lie fudge where we dont pay appropriate salaries cos the public would FREAK THE F OUT, when they are trying to raise a kid on £30k and an MP on £200k is telling them to tighten their belts [understandable] - but then you get muppets who just abuse the system If the salary for an MP was £200k and NO 2nd jobs or income Farage would never have run, he is ONLY an MP cos he can spend most of his time on other jobs.

  13.  @davideyres955  NO - Im 54 my life has been amazing. Bought a house at 24 for 2.5X my salary - live on a beach in Europe. Was out clubbing 4 nights a week in my early 20's not saving every penny for a mortgage deposit like the poor sods today BUT none of the pensioners today have been through the w4r. either - they just think they have. POOR POOR BOOMERS.
