  1. I had 3 Sea Island cotton shirts with a claimed thread count of 1000. They were like silk and after 20 years of pretty regular wear were still like new. They cost from memory £115 each in about 1995. Sadly they got lost in a house move - all my shirts and ties somehow vanished in this house move... IDK
