  1. They have created a perenial rice - you dont ahve to re plant it. It grows every year from the old plant. Imagine the labour and energy saving in that. The also have dry rice, does not need the fields to be flooded.

  2. This is very good cos the western companies were locking farmers into having to buy their seed every year as the crop was sterile - you coudl not replant it the next year
