You mean people who live in the real world and not a bygone fantasy tell their kids the truth and not propaganda cause anxiety in their kids - kids need to be lied to.

IM AN AUTHOR on psychology and I would agree - liberal parents make bad parents, children are creatures that need boundaries and protection. The problem is conservative parents make terrible members of society, they will provide for their kids and blame the homeless person for messing up their nice safe street, they will stab their co-workers in the back to get the extra shift to provide for their kids, conservative parents are GREAT if you are their kid - they are terrible for society as a whole.

@l.w.paradis2108 Im an author on psychology and there are a million factors that lead to this. The belief that you should not lie to your children V children should be seen and not heard, menas they receive more worry cos they know more. The mental acuity of the kids to process information V believe in fantasies [god] that things will work out. The intelligence of the kids.

@seanspuffy I truly wish I were a conservative. To not know anything, to see the world in such simple black and white terms "Every question she had was to try and discredit the report " You TRULY think that - not a single synapse in your brain thought further than "she is mad and upset" and I ENVY that so much. YOU would be mad if it were the other way around so she is mad - END OF STORY. When in fact she is a qualified journalist and it is her job to ask the question her audience might be asking, but you never asked a question did you? And that's why your kids are less stressed - the more you know, the more you question the world, the more uncertainty there is and the more you are stressed.

@topomusicale5580 in fairness to her - many of her audience members on this story are conservatives and the idea that "Correlation doesn't imply causation" is a novelty at best to them and an anathema more likely.

AND I 100% know the conservatives reading this are thinking "OF COURSE that's good parenting - thats what you DO for your children!!! You protect them from THE OTHER" And I know there is literally nothing I can say to convince you this is because you lack the mental architecture to even understand why this is a bad thing and not a good thing - so i wont bother.

I know you don't possess the neurons in your brain to perceive the world as others do and you see yourselves as good people, but you're not. Its literally been proven in experiments and f-MRI scans. Let me help, though your nature is to dismiss this because it does not comport with your view of the world so it MUST be wrong. The Child In The Well Experiment Mencius (fourth century BCE) was a Confucian philosopher. He proposed that all humans were inherently good. They all has “sprouts” of goodness, they just needed nurturing. To demonstrate this he proposed the following. A young child is sat on a well, as you want by it falls screaming down the well. He says EVERYONE would run to help the child, call for help. Recently this was tested. Subjects were taken to a room in a different city and there was a video screen of the space outside and it shows a well with a child on it. The subjects don't know this is a a pre recorded video, they think it is a live feed. As the “experiment” is being set up the child falls screaming down the well. The theory is that 100% of people will react and call the assistant to go help the child. This is not the case. 80% do exactly that, they go nuts and scream for help, run out the room to try and save the child, just what you would expect. 20% do NOTHING. They don't call for help, they don't get up and try to help and a significant proportion don't even register any facial emotions. They just passively watch a child die as if they were watching a commercial for shampoo. Upon further investigation, the vast majority of these that don't react are right to far right wing in their political views. ~~~~~~~~~~~ These are your people, these are the "responsible" "self disciplined" people, you dont miss the job interview cos a kid fell down a well - that would be irresponsible. And from an evolutionary standpoint - YOU were the ones that fled and did not defend the village when attacked [ independent of society REMEMBER] and wiped out and YOU survived and the village lived on. YOU HAD [past tense] and evolutionary role. Today YOU are just terrible human beings. independent of society independent of society independent of society independent of society independent of society To you its a virtue, actually its one of the worst things a human being can be... @Batham55 Well no - its called journalism, you ask the questions that your audience might be asking. Obviously, YOU were not asking any questions, but I was asking "What variables have you allowed for - conservative kids are likely to be dumber and less educated so they will have lower levels of stress and they know less" but he had actually accounted for this. If she had not asked the questions i would not have the answer to these. She did her job, you just didn't know there was a job to do cos you didn't know there were questions to be asked. This is why you are less stressed than I am. Ignorance truly IS bliss... I envy you your simple-minded stupidity.

I KNOW THIS MKAES THE RIGHT WING SUPER HAPPY but it probably just means your kids are dumber and less aware of the world, they will be less stressed as kids but way less able to live independently as young adults. People with very little knowledge of the world tend to have much better mental health - sadly.

@pete5691 This is very true. To a conservative their worldview is correct and things are either in alignment with it or wrong. That is great for kids who need simple good/bad, yes/no cos their brains are incapable of nuance. Liberals have a multifaceted variable view of the world that INFORMS their opinions and that is bad for kids cos kids just cant DO that.

@inelhuayocan_aci I just saw his comments and he literally has no idea what a "neo stalinist progressive" is cos a Stalinist and a Progressive are essentially mutually exclusive. I live in the former USSR - I know Stalinists and they have NOTHING in common with Am3ric4n progressives.
