  2.  @Arlesmon  I'm a professional author. Passion has almost nothing to do with it. It's 5 hours a day for 18 months to 3 years, and then your editor will take all that "passion" and throw 70% in the trash and you have to be fine with that. Passion gets you the first 50 pages of a book. Professionalism and single-minded determination gets you the other 250 pages. On the other hand, in 10 years or 20 years, that book will still be bringing in $100, $200, $500, $1000 a month. Its one of the few jobs that's a long-term investment.
