YES... Someone who knows...!!! So is Animal Farm - it was coopted to be anti-communist in the West, its not - its anti-authoritarianism I just finished The Road To Wigan Pier by Orwell, about life in the north of England in 1935 - much less read but very good.

@xCorvus7x - Only - NO - if you read The Road To Wigan Pier, Orwell very specifically tells you what he thinks, there is no "interpretation" needed. He is a fierce socialist who hates authoritarianism of any kind. He felt the British and American socialist movements in the 1930's were not radical or strong enough.

@xCorvus7x You too. BTW - I recommend The Road To Wigan Pier - worth a read, the shocking bit is how we are facing exactly the same problems today and the things we think are new problems like processed food being unhealthy but poor people could not afford anything else, NOPE we knew that in 1935.
