  1. 2 years ago I decided to give "vegan leather" a go. I bought some boots, they were expensive, it made out they were not petrochemical-based [this was a lie using obfuscating language]. First thing to say - they were astonishingly comfortable from day 1. I was ASTONISHED. 2nd thing to say - they lasted THREE MONTHS I was going to take them back for a refund but a gypsy snuck into my house and stole them LOL. That aside - a rediculous waste of money and the earth's resources.

BEWARE LOW-QUALITY COTTON AN LINNEN I dont mean garments - I mean fabric - there is a sudden plethora of VERY low quality fabric at $$$$ prices. 100% cotton and Linen but VERY short-staple so it looks and feels great but wears out in no time. A pair of linen shorts I made 3 months ago just needed patching where they had worn through - they should have lasted 20 years. I paid about €35/m. Pull a thread and test the length of the staple - cotton should be 40mm linnen should be 100mm plus.
