  1. AIRCRAFT CARRIERS ARE COMPLETELY OBSOLETE but the USA has no option but to build them cos all its planes and systems are obsolete and they need them. It would actually only have subs. If the USA could start with a blank sheet of paper in 2023 it would NOT build a single aircraft carrier and it would not build a single maned aircraft - putting a human in an aircraft makes it worse i EVERY single way. Speed, altitude, max G, duration, size, weight, stealth, range. You NEED carriers cos you have manned aircraft, no other reason. If you started with a blank sheet of paper you could have loitering drones, nigh speed drones and submarine-launched drones. Carriers are needed to service legacy equipment and systems that would never exist if they were not legacy equipment and systems.

THE THING EVERYONE FORGETS IS DRONES We have reached the "Maxim gun" point of 21st century warfare. you can have thousands of low profile fiberglass loitering drones just floating in the sea off the coast looking for specific targets. A 10 foot long drone boat can carry 250 to 500 tiny anti-personal drones, it can communicate via satellite to the other drone boats and launch an attack of 10,000 anti-personnel drones that swarm every corridor of the aircraft carrier, they skit on the floor until they see a human and they attack and explode. They can also swarm the flight deck and hit the engines of the planes. And you can do this with stuff you buy from Amazon and Ukraine are doing, except they go for anti-ship drone boats. You cant operate an aircraft carrier if the crew can't leave their cabin cos they get slaughtered. Im not even saying that America will not overcome, but war is changing DRAMATICALLY. This is the reason there is a stalemate in Ukraine. No one can go outside co an enemy drone will kill them. As the Ukrainian guy said "we can see them and they can see us and when anyone moves they get killed"

They DONT attack the carrier - they go after the people onboard the carrier. Taking out the carrier is REALLY expensive and difficult, taking out the personnel is really easy IF you have a thing that can fly inside the carrier. The Houthi are targeting shipe with $2,000 drones - its costing the USA $1.8 MILLION PER MISSILE TO SHOOT THEM DOWN - you dont even have to actually hit the ship - you just deplete it missiles and cost the USA an ABSOLUTE FORTUNE.

  7.  @jdluntjr76226  You are living in the 20th century - Its already been reported that Iran has loitering drones in the red sea - they sit at or just above the surface and wait to release swarms of antipersonnel drones to attack the ship "first strikes from US Air Force with stealth bombers JASSM ER - rapid dragon will degrade zchinas tracking systems severely and probably their airfields " You dont think other country have things...???

  11.  @smithnwesson990  why do you need carriers? We don't even need planes to be manned anymore, putting a man in the plane dramatically limits the capability of the plane. It can't go as fast it can't go as high a Cunt Turner's quickly it can't stay up as long. Putting a human in a plane limits it in every way possible. And you only need carriers to service planes with people in. If America could start with a blank sheet of paper now they would not build a single aircraft carrier, they wouldn't build a single manned aircraft,. These are legacy inheritances that constrain the US military. Ukraine doesn't even have a navy and they are regularly taking out Russian ships. Ukraine took out dozens of Russian fighters and helicopters by simply flying small domestic drones into the engine shortly after takeoff.
