@oldskool4572 - Because he scared the sh!t out of the establishment types. He WAS actually going to make changes and make the country a fairer place and he nearly won the election against May and they utterly sh!t themselves - so they had to smear and destroy him to guarantee he never won and his policies were blamed as being the thing that everyone voted against. Its the same as Bernie Sanders in the USA - every time he looked likely to win the establishment pulled together to ensure he didnt. WHY? cos he was going to DO something. Starmer is acceptable cos he is a neoliberal and wont change the status quo
