Meanwhile in my Bulgarian city of Burgas - the poorest country in the EU - the city has just built a brand new care home for the elderly that costs zero 4 new hospitals making a total of 27 in my city of 250k people cos its convenient ot have a local hospital. You know they tel you socialised healthcare is terrible - not only is ours good it is local, you can walk to the hospital. Same with the doctors, the dentists, the council offices - the city is built for the benefit of the PEOPLE who live there not for proffit. Out income tax is 10% flat rate.

  3. I have long covid and it is crushing - thankfully I live in Bulgaria where they believe you. There is no treatment right now, but my last appointment I had 24 blood tests - I had to pay as I am British - the cost was about $20. The doctor was $16 for 2 visits. I also found a new mole that needed removing - that cost me $175 for the initial doctors appointment, the specialist, the dermatologist to remove it, the lab work to asses it was cancerous but not dangerous. Everything $175. and it took 108 hours from me finding it to it being removed. If I had paid tax here it would be completely free.

JUST LISTENING TO THESE STORIES I am struck by how tablet-based your medicine is - you are in pain take this, that does not work take this its stronger Over here in Europe, they are MUCH more likely to work on physiotherapy, psychological help to learn to deal with pain cos pain is in the mind [I am speaking from experience] if you can learn, with help, to ignore the pain, pain diminishes. There are so many ways to manage pain BEFORE you jump to the strong tablets that will ruin your life. TENS, electrical stimulation, distraction etc.

  7.  @andreah6379  Yes its hard not to sound like in dismissing peoples pain, which is real. But the pain really is in your head. I had chronic joint pein from long covid. The pain specialist said to me "you can be happy and in pain or miserable and in pain - its your choice". I thought you're right. ANd I decided to be happy, to ignore the pain and a week later the pain had dropped by 80%. Pain is very real but it travels through nerves and is felt in the brain, if you can find a way to stop that it can be just as powerful as pain killers and does not have side effects.
