AMERICA WILL GET THE LEADERS IT DESERVES does not mean you have to live there - I'm British, they elected a right wing government and I left the country. Now the UK is a collapsing sh!t hole and where I live wages have doubled in that 12 years.

@bizzmoneyb - I live in Bulgaria now. Been here 13 years - I love it. Its like the Uk and the USA used to be 50 years ago, only with high speed internet. Busy high streets, neighbours that talk to each other, and Proportional Representation and government-funded elections...

@Adowrath - I work with abuse victims. Everyone has a reason not to leave - until they leave... I've known people borrow $500 and land in a different country and restart their lives. It's not easy, but people do it every day. "instead of trying to fix things!" is just code for "I don't want to leave" If you don't want to leave - that's fine. But don't moan about how bad it is - you made a choice...

@Fantallana - Your lack of knowledge is showing. Abuse is abuse. There is NO difference to the recipient between systemic abuse, interpersonal abuse, employer abuse etc. Your problem is you can not conceptualise abuse as anything other than interpersonal. Being stuck in a country in an abusive system is exactly the same as being stuck in an abusive relationship.

In fact you have 3 options in front of you: 1) Leave the USA for a better life 2) Stay and have a worse life but make the most of it with stoicism and determination 3) Stay and have a worse life and moan about it Im not toxic, your desire to choose No3 is what is toxic...

@Adowrath - I think you labour under a misapprehension about what life will be like in the USA over the next 20 years. I said I used to work with abuse victims, I'm also an author on the psychology of abuse as well as the collapse of civilisations. If the right-wing seizes power in the next 10 years, which looks very likely. There will be an orgy of abuse. They have a lifetime of hatred in them that stems from the abuse they have suffered by the system and capitalism. These are not intelligent rational people and they blame YOU and your "kind" for the capitalist system and the governments they voted for. You have 30 million heavily armed very very messed up people looking for revenge... America is collapsing and that is unstoppable, though it will most likely be very slow, unlike the UK which is imploding rapidly. However, this means the dispossessed right wing will get more and more angry and violent, and they have every right to be angry. The only way America stops massive violence is by the Dems winning and massively providing for the dispossessed right wing, make good on that promise that being born American provided and has been defaulted upon. This is very unlikely to happen.
