@dissident1337 - WRONG - there is 30 years of data showing they NOT voting allows the worst politicians to get into power. Turnout in US elections is about 65% MAX - thats divided 32.5% / 32.5% meaning that the 35% that do NOT vote could all vote for a real progressive candidate and WIN Correlation is NOT causation.

@Terrordragonfly " it doesn't matter who wins" If it didnt matter who wins - they would not spend over a billion $USD trying to win. It matters, what matters MORE is them making sure a progressive does NOT win and they will spend unlimited billion of $ to do that. Including convincing people their vote does not count. "The influence common peoples opinion have on public policies in the United States is negligible." This is because they have successfully "convinced people their vote does not count." If votes did not matter they would NOT be trying to ban Tic Tok - Gen Z are hyper-progressive and NEITHER party wants that. 16 million new Gen Z voters every election cycle - 32 million since 2016. Meanwhile, Boomers die off at a similar rate - so 32 million fewer establishment Boomers - that's a net transfer of 64 million voters from neoliberal to progressive and its STARTING to affect elections. The GOP are most terrified by this, but the Dems cant take it for granted cos Gen Z are the first hyper-connected generation in history and THEY can as a generation soon field their OWN presidential candidate - 2028 you will have 48 million MORE Gen Z and 48 million FEWER Boomers - that a near 100 million swing @ 75% progressive and THAT is enough to start winning elections, this is why they WILL ban Tic Tok. Politics in the USA is going to change very rapidly over the next 10 years, cos Gen Z act as a group - they are a hyper-connected participation generation, they decide en masse on what they are going to do - remember when they trolled Trump with 1.3 million ticket requests for his rally and then didnt turn up??? The corporate hold over US politics relies on people being disillusioned enough not to vote, and those that are to be split 50/50 over trivial issues like the logo on a beer can. Once you introduce Gen Z into that - it all goes t!ts up.
