If wages go up - they put the rent up to SUCK that life out of the economy, stopping it going to useful things like shops and businesses. And then they use it to buy -- MORE houses thereby making the problem worse. the 1st thing Labut should do is: 1)Ban private landlords, give them 10 years to sell - if they sell the Govt at a discount they suffer less capital gains - Fix rent at % of salary, say 20% - stop them sucking the life out of the econ
