AS A YORKSHIREMAN I wish you the greatest success, keep at it, the world IS changing and people are starting to appreciate quality over the disposable and cheap...

@thisaccountisntreal107 - At the beginning of lockdown I started making flat caps for something to do. I moved on to other clothes and the very first time I drafted a bespoke pattern for a pair of trousers and made them I literally said SH!T...!!! cos I knew I now had to make every pair of trousers cos I could NOT wear the hideously ill-fitting shop bought ones again... And I did. Since that very first try on I have not worn a shop bought pair of trousers or jeans - its THAT big of a difference.

@ravener96 - If they are ground correctly it should greatly surpass it...

Im 52 - 4 years into learning how to handcraft suits to Savile row standard. I messaged my tutor today and said "I can never get the shoulders to match perfectly, the right shoulder is always slightly rounder at the front than the left. He said "its because you are right-handed, the movement of your hand is pushing the fabric to the front every so slightly on the right and to the back on the left, if you want them perfectly the same - use the machine to sew them..." We have become so used to CNC / machine precision we forget that humans make human things...

A mushroom has been found in a Japanese plastic recycling facility that is breaking down the plastic... Mushrooms are simply AMAZING.

In America, Exon Mobil would be fracking the site of the clay mine...

My father NEVER used to clean his tea pot of the myg he drank from. It had like a 50 year old crust of built-up tannins and "stuff". He swore that it improved the flavour, as a kid I just thought it was gross LOL

I MAKE BESPOKE men's historical suits 1900 to 1940 - the difference between a suit made by one person from start to finish V a group of individuals is quite profound. I totally appreciate him saying "if its done by a group you don't have the personal responsibility". I know I want the lapel to lie just so, to curve back at the tip when I draft the pattern, and I sew that curve in as I form it. If you are just sewing a lapel - well a lapel is a lapel, how are you to know curl the designer had in mind...???

WE ALL KNOW the smell of rain hitting earth

ITS NOT TIN - tin is a soft malleable metal that bends very easily - this is a hard brittle metal - maybe chromium...??? I guess they are protecting the family's secret...

I make bespoke historical mens suits for 9 months of the year - and for 9 months of the year I am so chill and relaxed. I hand sew in an almost trance-like state. In summer it is too hot - like now - and I am just a ball of stress. Ive tried knitting but Im not good ta it and it annoys me...

@Lalala-ym9ro Dont worry - we are at the start of the AI revolution - aging population will cease to be a problem as UBI will be a necessity to keep economies functioning...
1
@Shirokuma15 only Gen X old men. Gen Z have no interest in technology - a spanner or a chisel or a pair of knitting needs are the same as an iPhone - they are a tool you do things with. Gen Z are mining history for interesting things to do

It took me 25 years to become an overnight success... Then when I was and the novelty had worn off I realised it was not my dream. It was societies dream and I was miserable. Cos buying something and selling at a profit is an empty and meaningless existence - unlike making beautiful pianoes.

236,251 have watched it now - a link or a contact number could have ensured this business's survival... Hell, set up a website and take a cut of the sale.

IF YOU USE STYROPHOAN COFFEE CUPS you simply don't deserve to be allowed coffee - sorry. Sit down at a table and drink your coffee in a ceramic cup like a civilised human being. If you don't have time - reassess your life! You should have 10 minutes for a coffee in your day.
