AS FAR AS I KNOW if you are dead at the end of it you were "hanged" - if you are cut down still alive you were "hung" Go Mr Fawlks was hung, drawn and quartered - ALSO "drawn" is usually incorrectly identified as being put on the rack - it was not - it was being drawn through town tied to a horse. This in its self often killed the person.
