PRE 1985 THE MAX SIXE WAS 750 X 1200mm in 1985 in order to build public buildings cheaper the Govt [THATCHER] increased this to 1200 x 6000mm This is a big part of the current issue [BS8001-3]

In 1982 RAAC manufacture in the UK was ended, it had gone out of fashion due to the known problems it didnt really meet the building regs. In 1985 the govt deregulated the building industry and specifically allowed the use of RAAC in short-life buildings. They also upped the panel size from 750 x 1200 to 1200 x 6000mm I spent all of Monday reading up on it, its very easy to find info as it has been very controversial since 1980.

A TORY COMMENTATOR SIAD this is the beginning of a MASSIVE crisis - cos the Tory govt sold off all the well made victorian courts and police stations to their mates to turn into luxury apartments and hotels, and kept allthe sh!tty 1970's and 80's stuff - so the UK public building stock is now 100% cheap sh!t about to fall down. I think it was Harry Cole saying this.
