  1. I LIVE IN BULGARIA we have great public services and a flat rate 10% tax, that's 10% on any form of income or wealth generation. No point in getting an expensive accountant - its 10% no matter which column you move it to. Low income people pay and then get a rebate in food vouchers. My point is - it shows you how much the rich avoid in the UK if taxing them 10% subsidises everyone else's tax down to 10% - cos in reality the rich in the UK pay 3%. NB - it will have to go up here, they are increasing the salaries of teachers and nurses a LOT.
