The French declare a project "Of National Importance" and then there is NO p!ssing about with arguing over buying the land or satisfying the Tory voters by building tunnels and compensating them. They just buy the land, and property at the market rate - no arguing - you leave or you are evicted. If it ruins your view, tough, move. They dont take the p!ss - its only for projects of genuine national im,portance.
