  1. THE USE OF THE WORD "LIKE" is picked up by speakers of English as a second language once they start watching American movies/streamers without subtitles. Here in Bulgaria, I can tell when a person has progressed to the point of no longer watching with subtitles as they start using "like" everywhere, they develop the AQI [american question intonation], and eventually the American accent.

  2. Ive lost the ability almost completely since living in Bulgaria, accents have to be almost cartoonishly strong for me to pick them up now.
