I SPOKE TO AN 18 YEAR prisoner from a US Max sec prison about 3 months ago - he TOTALLY changed my mind on prison - PRISON DOES NOT WORK Sentences under 1 year TOTALLY destroy people's life chances and they usually end up in and out of prison for the rest of their lives as a RESULT of the 1st sentence. Long sentences dont work as you become institutionalised after about 5 years and fear your RELEASE date more than your time, many plan a crime whilst in prison to get BACK in prison...!!! If you are a genuine danger to society you need to be in a secure mental facility. If not you should be doing some form of restorative justice where you can see the consequences of your actions AND make up for them. Prisons serve 2 purposes 1) to make right-wing people feel good about punishing someone 2) make money for private prison contractors

  3. So do I. But Rory LOST. Corbyn LOST. Johnson WON and hopefully Starmer will WIN. And that is the sick part of our system. Honest decent people LOSE to the lying holes.
