  1. I THINK OUR BELOVED PROF TIM has a nostalgic view, a romanticised, view of British politics where competent people are put in the position of minister, people who can DO THE JOB. This is a thing from a bygone era, something that now only exists in the memories of those old enough to remember such times... today people are put in positions because they are entertaining enough to distract the media, or malleable enough to do the bidding of those with real power without question.
