@mrennie5158 - I actually think that anything that gets kids reading is FANTASTIC. But I also feel if you make literally a billion £ doing that you then have a duty NOT to alienate and be h4tfrull towards a large section of your child fanbase. Especially when the book you copied and added magic to is very specifically about tolerance and looking after the oppressed and different [very probably trans/none binery] kid in the school.

MY THEORY for what its worth [and that is nothing] - JKR is suffering from CRUSHING "Imposter Syndrome" She knows she is not that good, she knows she plagiarised her works, she lives in fear of "being found out" so the idea of someone being different from what they say they are is utterly TERRYFYING to her. She is terrified of uncertainty, of blurred lines. TERRIFIED OF DOUBT ABOUT WHAT A PERSON REALLY IS...!!!

THIS IS VERY COMPLICATED on the one hand JKR is a disgusting bigot and NO she is not "standing up for common sense" she is a bigot - on the other the new law appears to be madness its one of those unfortunate situations where people believing they are doing the right thing have acted so rashly they have inadvertently proven the worst people on earth right...

And I don't care. My theory is she knows its TBSD with magic added and she does not believe she deserves the success she had got - IM not even saying she does or does not deserve the success; she monetised an idea that was 150 years old - I dont care - I made millions selling skin cream - its no different. BUT my point is - I believe SHE cares - I believe she has utterly crushing Imposter Syndrome and that is why she is fighting this fight against NO ONE about Trans issues. She is projecting her crushing insecurity onto the trans debate - because remember, her alternative is SHUTTING UP AND ENJOYING BEING A BILLIONAIRE AND CHILDREN's HERO...!!! @ProfessorTimWilson Added to my reading list - Im just about to finish "Mill on the Floss" - which is a strange book as I dont like any of the characters in it, but its incredibly readable.
