@markwelch3564 Im not an economist, I'm an author on psychology and the collapse of civilisations. So I cant tell you what to do to build the economy but I can tell you that no amount of Labour is going to transform things for at least 8 years and more likely 15. The UK is in a situation called "interconnected cascading systems failure" Everything is broken, everything you need to fix it is broken and everything you do makes the situation worse. ON TOP of which you have Ai - and that is going to radically change the world and work and we have no idea how it will change it so we cant even make a PLAN. The UK relies on banking, legal, insurance, media as major revenue generators and these are the very industries that will be most impacted by AI - will we have 20% unemployment or 35%...??? or 5% We literally DO NOT KNOW. UBI will be a necessity but then you have to jack up corporation tax to 75% to pay for it, so companies will just flee the first countries that introduce it, but if you dont introduce UBI then there is literally NO MONEY in the system for people to buy stuff...!!! The UK is in the worst of all possible positions at the worst of all possible times - this is the economic equivalent of having Boris Johnson in charge when a pandemic hits. Every other country in the west has a basically OK economy, they are not fundamentally BROKEN, so they can take it step by step and see what Ai brings and adapt. But the UK has to make VERY RADICAL CHANGES cos the economy is utterly broken, the entire country is utterly broken, so Labout have to literally GUESS and then invest hundreds of billions of borrowed £££ on an absolute blind guess. If they get it right - the UK simply does not totally collapse into Argentinian levels of chaos. If they get it wrong the UK will make Agentena look like paradise. We have to bet the farm and the mortgage on the farm on a total guess and HOPE...!!!

@markwelch3564 I 100|% agree on the renuables -m that is a MUST. The issue with AI is not what it does or does not do - its that we dont KNOW. If we get GAI we literally have 35% unemployment - if it advances no further than it is today we get 5% - and that makes planning for the future next to impossible. We DONT KNOW where we are on the sigmoid curve of AI technology - are we at the very bottom of the up ramp??? OR are we levelling off at the top as you believe? I dont know and I have little opinion actually; what concerns me more is the flooding of the internet with AI content that AI then scrapes and used to produce more - even worse AI content. The Internet equivalent of the satellites being hit by debris, exploding and creating a cascade of destruction. You already can NOT trust Google cos the answers you get are AI scraped - we might not be in a high tech AI world in 10 years but an internet desert where the internet is utterly unusable, nothing is real or reliable - already 50% of US supreme court decisions have broken links to precedents, the permanency of the int4ernet we all worried about is proving to be anything but...

The workforce are all ill and if they are healthy but fall is they wil be on the sick for years, they cant travel cos the public transport it terrible, if they go by car they will miss 2 days a year due to potholes and be late 20 days a year due to congestion, they have to live miles away from the city to afford rent so they are tired every day. They are badly fed and depressed. And thats before you get to Brexit - thats just the state of the UK workforce.

NO ONE CAPABLE OF DELIVERING BREXIT would ever agree to do it, the only people idiotic enough to do it are not capable of delivering it. the "good" Brexit was therefore never a possibility.

@paulwilson7234 - I dont even live in the UK and it will transform my life. I have had to apply IN WRITING ON PAPER to have my sister set up as a proxy vote, it cost me €28 to currier the document to the council offices - there was NOTHING going to stop me from voting these ***** out

@markwelch3564 Well the problem is Thatchers greatest creation is a destroyed and isolated "working class" - the wealthy are united in their desire to protect their wealth, the middle class are too comfortable to care much so its the working class who create change, she knew this and destroyed them forever.
