Its funny you should say that - Im a semi-professional bespoke tailor of men's historical suits. I buy quite a lot of things that are easy to get in the Uk and VERY difficult to get in the EU, because of Saville Row the Uk has the suppliers. But the aggravation os buying from Britain is so great that I only bother is absolutely forced to and the client is prepared to pay for my time and the product and the duties. This means the buttons for a suit that might cost £4 each cost the client £22 each when you add everything up.

@georgesdelatour I never buy from any other none EU countries TBH. Im buying really old traditional stuff like horse hair canvas, horn buttons, silk thread etc. Britain is the centre of the global tailoring trade for most things of this nature. For example, I have a roll of 25m of horse hair canvas I bought from Italy - its not as stiff as the British cos Italian suits are softer. None of my purchases are large in themselves - but over a year they add up to maybe £5,000. Im just one example of the thousands of people across the EU no longer buying from the UK. I know a leather worker who no longer buys oak-tanned English leather.
