  1. I'm literally re-reading 1984 now - it seems way more "normal" than it did in the 80's when I was at school and we read it. Im about 2/3tds of the way through and basically, it sounds like someone in 1949 describing the UK/USA in 2022 pretty accurate. The telescrene is Alexa listening to your every word, war is perpetual to use up excess production, the prols are kept deliberately uneducated - no critical thinking taught in schools, the NEWSPEAK word for disaster is "distraction"...
