THE AMERICANS MUST BE VERY WORRIED about this, their entire military structure is built around surface ships - an Admiral got reprimanded a while ago for saying "we have two types of vessel - submarines and targets" But low-cost low profile fibreglass vessels with a motor and 1 tone of explosives are super cheap to produce, they can navigate by GPS to the general location, they can loiter, and they are VERY hard to spot - sailing boats have radar reflectors to MAKE them visible as GRP does not make a good radar reflector. The whole profile of war is changing very rapidly.

@davidty2006 I owned a 30 foot sailboat for 5 years - I am very much aware of how hard it can be to see things at sea, especially at night. Keep in mind a sailboat is TRYING to be spotted by larger vessels, painted white, white sails, radar reflectors, lights, and we are keeping a lookout and radioing the ships and even then sometimes they report back they cant see you...!!! My Yacht was maybe 8 feet air draft above the water, so in a 9 foot swell it would go completely invisible if we were using the engine and not the sails.
