I had this conversation over about 100 comments with a very clever person. I maintained that AI images are not art as art can only be created by a sentient entity capable of emotions and feeling pain. He used Fountain as a defece and we eventually agreed that an AI-generated image of a urinal on a pedestal is possibly unique in that it DOES ask the same question "what is art" In most other examples its NOT art because 100% of Ai images are plagiarised off other artists' work across the internet and THAT renders it SLOP and not art. If I did not have Long Covid I would enter an AI picture of a urinal to a gallery to start the debate. As it is I will need a lie down ofter this comment...
