Im a Brit, I've driven all over Europe and I would say the Germans are not so much impatient drivers as professional drivers. They know what they are doing and they expect you to know as well. Its very similar to [how it used to be] driving in the UK between 2am and 6am. This was the time when the people on the roads were driving for a living and wanted to get the job done. Back in the 1990's or 2000's even the police left you alone between these times. Ive been flashed out to overtake at 120mph by the police on one occasion. But my point is, the feeling of being able to rely on others that they know what they are doing and are fully aware of what is happening around them is always the feeling I got driving in Germany.
