HERE IN BULGARIA - Almost thing happened cash based economy and a very weird relationship with tech means its both very advanced and very cautious. Bulgaria was the 3rd largest manufacturer of computers in the world in the cold war. But unlike the US it has a policy-driven not stock price driven attitude - they codified laws for AI in 1983. You know that thing the US is just getting around to thinking about. "AI shall never impersonate a human" is one of them. "Computers make things faster - but dont rely on them" is the BG way

@Vic_Trip I cant take credit - Im English. When I moved here I thought they were backward and lazy. I was a bigoted id!ot. There is an article you can find called "Lawful Little Country: The Bulgarian Laws of Robotics by Valentin Ivanov" And another one called "The Numerous and Escalating Bulgarian Laws of Robotics" But they did codify about 6 of the laws into actual legislation - now defunct. But the general cautiousness of relying on tech is a cultural thing Its a very strange little country - we have Gb Fibre optic internet for like $10 a month across the whole country and hand written price stickers on packets of Chips in the shops.
