@desktoptotv8352 PLASTICS ARE NOT INHERENTLY BAD it's the proliferation of pointless single-use plastics and ultra-cheap plastic crap that breaks almost instantly and is not recyclable. THAT'S the problem - plastics are in fact amazing. its our misuse of plastics as a society that is the problem.

@nigelmckee3058 - YET - QUOTE "Coca-Cola produces some 3 million tons of plastic packaging globally each year – the equivalent of about 200,000 bottles a minute – and it's been branded the world's largest plastic polluter as the vast majority of this never gets recycled"

@kobbetop - I think I said in reply to someone that the problem is not plastic, its an amazing thing. the problem isOUR ABUSE of plastic as a society. The idea that plastic is disposable is the worst thing we could have come up with. Its very much NOT disposable. I watched a program on industrial archaeology and they were uncovering a factory that had been completely buried in a valley by a landfill in the 1950's and 60's as they dug it up all there was was soil and PLASTIC. Even the tin cans had rotted away - but all the plastic bags and other stuff - all still there the same as the day it went in there...

@CavanHagan2 - Yes, plastics are amazing - but they should never have been descrived as or treated as "disposable" - Its very much NOT disposable. @unitrader403 - Thats fine - I used an iced tea bottle for 2 years for water for the gym. And that's the thing - plastic is amazing - a bottle that is designed to be thrown away was used 6 days a week for the gym for 2 years. Plastic is NOT the problem p- its our abuse of plastic that is the problem.
