  9.  @roywiseman  - well ultimately we will never know. BTW - I am not a remainer. I am an anti-globalisation pragmatist. I would have welcomed a phased switch to a more locally based economy that relies on as little external trade as possible for environmental reasons and the maintaining of culture [this is not a xenophobic comment] I mean the UK should not look like a clone of the USA with endless global brands and nothing unique about it. I live in Bulgaria and the same is happening here and I hate it. My objection to Brexit is it could NEVER WORK. NI would erupt in conflict guaranteed - as it has. And after nearly 50 years in the EU the UK does not have the international negotiators to do good deal [Australia] of the customs officials to handle the situation [as is the case] or the civil servants to administer it all and these are NOT people you can hire over night. It takes 20 years to train up a top civil servant and we are 50,000 short. The UK does not even have the University programs to train these people, we ended them... Brexit will never work, no matter how much you believe in it, no matter how much you want it to. If it would work, I would be 100% behind it - the CAP was a disaster, it destroyed the British countryside in a way that has proven to be very very harmful - we now know we need all these thousands of miles of hedges the farmers were literally paid to grub out. If Brexit had been a 20 year plan to move to e more sustainable way of living not relying on globalised unsustainable trade and unsustainable agricultural practices - I would have voted for it. But it WASNT. It was a f-kup... I hope this does not get deleted LOL
