GERMANY GDP per person $46k Average working week 34.8h Average Salary $48k BRITAIN GDP per person $40k Average working week 37.4h Average Salary $38k ITS ALMOST LIKE treating workers well, paying them well, gives them an incentive to work harder isn't it...???

@orraman5427 - I KNOW. Just spoke to a guy online trying to feed a family on £19,800 salary for a 39.5 hour week. Its not even close to livable is it...??? But we all know what his problem is - he's lazy. If he just worked a bit harder he would be on £65k

@lanceash - I made the same comment on another video and a guy wrote back saying how much he hated his life now - because he had to work for British companies after 26 years of working for German companies...

@ROLEPLAYA64 - I am with you, my friend. I'm a self employed author, I live on about £6000 a year in Bulgaria - its enough to get by. But if we had the inflation the UK has it would not be...!!!

THE WHITE BRITISH WORKER who had his families feudal land stolen off him by the Tories with the enclosures Acts in order to provide starving labour for the mills of the industrial revolution... THAT worker is idle is he??? OK - take the land back of the Tory voting farmers and give him it back and go get some more grateful workers then...

@pam-gw6uk - I do. But Liz Truss compared the UK to Germany and China so I looked up Germany as the most analogous.

@andreasarnoalthofsobottka2928 - I 100% agree there is a difference. Only I would argue the difference and its implication is in itself an entire debate. Level of people sick and unable to work due to poor health systems. Life expectancy. No. of the people in higher education so not working. Number of people unable to work due to lack of public transport - like my sister friend who had her car repossessed cos she lost her job in the pandemic, lives in a village with 1 bus a day at 10.30am and 4.00pm back. All of these things have impact on the number of productive people in the country. Also the productivity is affected by the health of the workers, the reliability of their cars, public transport etc etc... Its a complex issue. I picked GDP per capita.

@andreasarnoalthofsobottka2928 - TOTALLY. It would take me a month to even sit down and write out the pro's and cons of GDP per worker V GDP per capita in the context of this discussion - my suspicion is its 6 and two 3's. But you guessed correctly - i used per capita cos it was the easiest to find and didn't require dividing trillion by millions...

@Cornu341 The thing is, I would not have known you were being sarcastic if you had not said so, cos there are Tories that think exactly that... One said to me about a disabled guy that called into the radio "if he can call into a radio show why cant he work in a call centre the lazy *****" someone else had heard it and replied "Cos he was 76" But thats what they are like.
