I HAVE WRITTEN 3 BOOKS on psychology of narcissism and one on the collapse of civilisations and I have two beliefs about the current UK situation: 1) All right wing parties are fundamentally fascist in nature, they are just waiting an opportunity to exploit and a weak enough opposition that will let them; civility is a mask 2) A Fascist Dictatorship is the natural result of electing a pathological narcissist into a position of power >>> Conclusion below IN the USA they elected a narcissist - Trump, and they had a weak opposition to allow it but there was NOT the disaster they could exploit so Trump was voted out. IN the UK Boris was elected, we had the disaster of Brexit and Covid [which is why he did Brexit at the same time] and we have the pathetically weak opposition. I believe the UK is in grave danger, very grave danger - Bojo will be much harder to remove than anyone thinks - just look what he is surviving...!!!

I can guarantee you that a very significant % of people thought ending freedom of movement meant ENDING IT FOR IMMIGRANTS and would in no way affect them...

@ahgversluis - I KNOW. You know what this reminds me of. I used to be an alcoholic in a village with a LOT of alcoholics and every time I would try to get sober there would be a concerted effort to derail me. They would turn up en masse at my house at 10am with bottles of wine. Alcoholics DONT LIKE people getting sober - they LIKE COMPANY IN THEIR MISERY And this is what I see with the Brexiteers - its gone terribly badly and they would love some company in their misery, ergo they support the Polish Government when 85% of Pols DONT.

@MrPiccolop - I live in Bulgaria now. This is a great place to be poor, and I am POOR. I was rich but in 2015 I was mugged and suffered brain damage and lost everything, ended up homeless and now I am an author - I live on about £400 to £600 a month, which is low even by Bulgarian standards... BUT I am NOT excluded from society - and that is the big difference. Here society is geared up to serve EVERYONE - not just the middle class and the rich. You can buy 1 razor blade or 1 tide pod at the shop. Busses are a flat rate regardless of how far you go its £0.60p so you are not penalised for working a long way away, there are lots of free out door gyms and hundreds of parks and playgrounds. You can be poor and happy here - and most people are poor and happy.

@MrPiccolop - THANKS - that is what it GENUINELY feels like to me, in a really visceral way - when you are an alcoholic all you have left is the other alcoholics to get p!ssed with, its a desperate pathetic existence. And this is the vibe I get from the Brexiteers now, its a desperate pathetic existence... Their EVERYTHING has collapsed, their great plan, their ego, their personality - it was all wrapped up in this - and its collapsed like the life of an alcoholic. And all they have left to cling to is the hope of friendship of other failed states that MIGHT JUST join them so they are at least not ALONE in the world. Cos that's why alcoholics try and stop you from getting sober, they don't want to be alone - they have NOTHING else in the world. I literally had to move house to get sober.

@MrPiccolop - I absolutely agree. Substance misuse, be that alcohol, drugs, food, self-harming - it is all born from trauma. All of it - Dr Gabor Matte speaks brilliantly on this. And life in the UK in 2021 is literally abusive to the individual. Try raising a family on a zero hour contract never knowing if you will have work next week to pay your bills - THAT IS ABUSE, that level of mental and emotional stress - then add the debt that most people are in, the fact that many have no hope of ever buying a house, if you have a house your mortgage is about to go up cos inflation = interest rate rises. It is literally abuse for the average person to live in the UK today. So they do what normal people do, they turn to substances and behaviours to escape the trauma they are living. And how do you live in a society that barbaric if you are NOT one of the downtrodden??? You vilify the downtrodden - ITS THEIR FAULT It has to be, if not you cant live with yourself. YOu cant walk past an 18 year old girl on the streets homeless and out of her head on something and a human being unless SHE is less than you. SHE has to be responsible for her fate and YOU have to be better than that or you cant walk by... The worse a society gets for the downtrodden the more divided it HAS to get. And ther people that stand up for the downtrodden - you have to hate them as well, why? COS THEY make you look like the horrible person you really are... And that feels bad. so you cant approve of helping the downtrodden cos - they deserve it. If you DONT deserve it - when them it could be you!?!?!?! Couldn't it...??? So the division grows deeper. The substance abuse in society grows as the nation is divided into a subclass of unworthy scroungers using to cope with life and the upper class who have the subclass and use substances to cope with their trauma, their trauma being the nagging voice that says "it could be you...!" Sorry for the long post.

@rubbercable - I would 100% agree - normally the Tories need not do very much cos they have it tied up - I wrote these the other day [these are just notes I make for future use]: The Conservative Party The British Conservative party is a coalition of different privileged interests with the sole purpose of keeping that privilege for those people… They get in power by offering just enough to just the right people and no more - they are constantly titrating how much they can remove from the people yet stay in power Any action that may seem socialist is NOT, its self-preservation. They have no principles beyond the preservation of their own privilege. So to not lose an election they will throw money at the people; only to increase taxes on them 2 months after the election. Being called out on it would only matter to them if they HAD any principles or morals - they don’t - they know it's a bribe and they had no intention of ever keeping it. Scream about hypocrisy and broken promises all you want - they don’t care - they won the election. It's all about maintaining power in order to maintain privilege, whilst giving away as little as possible. To them, if they lose power its not because their policies were unpopular, they know their real policies are deeply unpopular, it's because they got the calculation of bribes and lies V votes wrong. --§-- In this instance [2021] to goal is to move assets [cos poor people are now utterly stripped dry of everything] from the lower level Tory voters to the higher level. I.e. smaller properties go to larger landlords, smaller farmland goes to the larger land owners, smaller companies go bust and their market share goes to the bigger companies. It is a form of Feudal Capitalism, it eats the bottom and feeds money and more importantly, capital assets to the top. But when the peasants have nothing it eats the next level up, and then the next, and the next until eventually it is eating the middle and upper-middle class as is happening in 2021. ---§--- TORIES The Tory Party exists to govern - it’s their only reason for existing. The people in the conservative party are literally BORN to govern, their parents were MP’s and government ministers and they grandparents and they never had a choice of career - they WOULD BE, not just politicians, but the GOVERNORS of the UK They went to school where they were TAUGHT how to govern - that is what Eton is for - to the the future leaders of the country how to govern. And you can only govern if you are in power, so maintaining power at any cost is their p[primary objective. Any amount of lying, any amount of bribing the electorate to vote for them is acceptable Their greatest asset is 5 years is longer than the average person memory. They lied to you 5 years ago, but you've forgotten that, and after all, the media told you that the opposition wants to let transgender immigrants use your child bathroom at school, and your house price just went up didn't it...? Best stick with the guys with the posh accents. ---§--- The English THE ENGLISH fantasise about being ruled over by posh toffs from Eton in a way that makes them feel secure and that all is well with the world. Trump was very obvious about this, cos he is incompetent, but it gave us a brilliant insight into how a fascist dictator achieves power - he will be the subject of my university lectures in the future - he lust laid it in the table what he was doing. But narcissists learn that you stay popular by infiltrating the friend's network of the victim. Translate that knowledge to politics and you stay in power by infiltrating the systems and organisations that keep you in power. Boris Johnson scares the sh!t out of me. I grew up in a northers mining area in the 80's my hatred of Thatcher is boundless - but she never scared me, I never believed that democracy was in peril. I 100% believe this with Bojo - I would swap another 5 years of Tory rule under almost anyone else than let Bojo have another day... He truly scares the sh!t out of me. I think we will all be very surprised how long he lasts and how much he can get away with.

@rubbercable - Just as an aside - I did a University course on Ancient Chinese Philosophy last year. It is a testament to the modern way of teaching that I passed the program and I know NOTHING about Ancient Chinese Philosophy. The entire program was geared to remembering the facts needed to pass the exam and not to actually develop a deep understanding of Ancient Chinese Philosophy. The program counted as Year 1 of a 3 year degree... In my opinion, it was scandalous.

@garryferrington811 - It is on my reading list - I read "FEAR" and I am currently reading "The Fourth Turning" about the cyclic nature of civilisations, great concept - boring book, and a summary of Karl Marx Das Capital which is truly fascinating but damn complicated and it's in about point 6 font size - you forget that paper books have limitations after a while LOL.
