5% ADDITIONAL PATRIOT TAX ON ALL EARNINGS OVER £100K rich people can help to pay for the protection of their own wealth

@Notalloldpeople - I mean lets be REAL. THEY are the ones to benefit most. To the average working class person it really matter a lot less who runs the country, Putin or Starmer, than it does a millionaire...!!!

@startled_squid You are correct actually - £100k is not a "high salary" today, especially in London. If you took 60% of it in tax it becomes unlivable in London. You are correct. My point was not thought through on the maths. "There's a reason we have a brain drain in this country." I don't think that is due to tax - I think it is due to the low salaries...!!! In 2002 - my last year working in the UK - I earned £65k as a salesperson, that same job today would not pay about £50k when it would need to double to govern inflation. Wages in the UK are shockingly low.

@tomvanaarle2622 Yeah but they dont - and I speak from experience having been rich. There is no point in being rich if there is nothing to do with the $$$. Which means you. need civilisation with culture. Tax havens are desolate places, so your choices are Duabia, shiny but culturally empty. Am3ric4 - now a fascist s**t h0le. Australia - yep no problem there but hard to nip and see your mates for golf. Or Europe and all of Europe has highish taxes. THE ONLY place rich people used to flee was the US. They may go to a tropical place but they will be bored in 2 years and return. And they cant move their assets. They own property and land and THAT is what they will pay to protect.

@thomasbootham2707 If you read down further I agreed that £100k was too low. But YES I want to tax them maybe 1% 100 - 150k, 2.5% 150k to 200k and then 5% over 200K - this is not punitive because they have too much money - this is for defence. Also as its mostly to protect property - lets have a 2% per year defence levy on all property worth over £1 million. You can mose a person if the Russians arrive, you cant move a house or office block. "So that would include senior doctors who earn over 100k". all doctors should earn over £100k - £100k is not a lot of money in 2025, hence my agree meant to change the scale.
