IM 100% IN FAVOUR of Scottish independence. I wrote this the other day: IM ENGLISH - England deserves to be alone, forsaken by the other parts of the union. Alone in its pathetic racist future in the 1950's or whenever it is they fantasise about, ruled over by posh toffs from Eton in the way that makes them feel secure and that all is well with the world. Slaving 20 hours a day down the Bitcoin Mine if they are lucky and thanking the Indian mine owner for the privilege... England has NEVER gotten over the loss of the empire, it seeps through our veins, only lanced by emigration and not to an enclave of Little England in Spain. It is utterly tragic to observe from afar. The desperation to still feel part of something special is as obvious to outsiders as a fresh dog sh!t in your living room, and about as appealing... Its a desperation so strong they voted for Brexit - economic doom but the chance to feel like the big boy again for a few fleeting moments before they die. Like a drug addict committing suicide with a known overdose, unable to face the reality of the world they inhabit - but determined to go out on one last high… --- § --- GET OUT - do not get dragged into the last century or into a fascist dictatorship by the racist morons who love a posh toff to doff their caps to down in England. Scotlands future is independent because Scotland is going in a TOTALLY different direction to England. It is progressive and forward-looking, so is Wales and they should FLEE as well. NI will obviously unite with Ireland. England has made its bed in 1880 or 1950 or wherever it is - the other nations should NOT be dragged down with it. But equally, BE UNITED in this. It is the division that is tearing America apart, that is tearing England apart. They all need to avoid that. A mandatory postal vote - everyone HAS to vote, and 55% or 60% so its not a tiny margin that may be based on a lie on a bus or Russian money on Facebook. I don't think it will be hard, the divergence of attitudes and ideas, of laws and regulations will widen the divide very quickly. England is becoming America and Scotland and Wales are becoming Norway - these are totally incompatible models of governance.

IM ALL FOR SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE But I do think they should learn from the Brexit example and make the % needed 60%. It should be beyond a DOUBT that its the will of the people and not a fluke on the day.

@mixodorians12 - Works both ways mate. How would you like the Tories pumping millions of £££ of Russian money into social media at the last moment and losing independence by 2%...??? Cos thats what happened in the Brexit referendum ONLY 2 weeks in the last 47 years has the leave % been higher than the remain in the EU % and it was the week the BREXIT campaign spent million £££ of Russian money. You cant move the public opinion 10% in a month no matter how much money you spend. But you CAN move it 4% Politics is NOT played fairly, and the tories are the last people on earth to play fair. I think it should be 60% so there is no massive division of society like there is with Brexit - cos that will DOOM any independence. 50% to 60% automatically triggers another referendum in say 4 years. 40% to 50% another in 12 years. Below 40% its a settled issue. That way its equal to both sides but you avoid the nightmare of a divided society - each side blaming the other for every problem and hating each other.

@jimmagspanton669 - AND there YOU go making assumptions - not a good idea... I grew up in a dirt poor family, suffered hunger as a child. In 2015 I was worth €6 million having built a business in a country where I did not speak the language or read the alphabet. I then suffered brain damage in a mugging and 18 months later I was homeless on the streets of Bulgaria... I wrote a book about my experiences, it sold well, wrote two more about the psychology of narcissism, a subject I did a degree in whilst living in a €5 a night motel and I have spent the last two years researching and writing a book on the collapse of civilisations. Oh, and I am severely dyslexic and could not read or write at 13 - SO..... What were you saying about me "If reality came up and hit you on the face you'd still be unable to comprehend it" OH REALLY... I'm a "academic elite on the lecture path" RIGHT You are correct I have no "idea what your working experience and environment is about" But I bet you your life story does not get 4.8* reviews on Amazon and sell enough copies for you to live quite comfortably on... Mine does. So probably best be quiet...

@orraman5427 - Make it a mandatory vote. Send everyone a vote by mail, make it lay you have to return it. None of these things are insurmountable. The problem you have with Brexit is Millions of ££ of Russian money was used illegally at the last minute. Millions of Brits overseas were NOT eligible to vote. Millions of Brits overseas - like me - were TOLD they were ineligible to vote but actually were - and it wone by 2% over 50%. IF that has been 62% well ok - there is no arguing with it. But at 52% it was STOLEN. It will never be anything but STOLEN but illegal money, messed up voting rules and UK govt incompetence telling people they were not eligible to vote when they were.

@jimmagspanton669 - I don't have any wealth. I lost everything. I was just making the point that you were saying I knew nothing about you; yet you were making assumptions about me. Thats all. Being an engineer is a much more valuable profession than what I did. You contributed to society - I never did. You are lucky enough to have three kids, I was never lucky enough to have kids. I never actually really enjoyed being rich after the novelty wore off; losing everything due to the brain damage was actually a massive blessing. Being a normal bloke with three good kids is what way more people should aspire to - not to being rich. I was just making a point about not assuming you know another person from a single post... Have a good evening. Be careful - they have found the new variant of Covid in the UK...!!!

I wasted 15 years of my life working every hour god sends 7 days a week - NOT having a family to be a "success" and it turned out that was societies dream and not mine... Just as the novelty was wearing off and dissolution setting in, I was mugged and suffered brain damage, lost everything and it was the best thing that could have happened to me - I try to be totally open about everything cos I want people to know that life really IS NOT about being rich or successful and an engineer or a sheep farmer or a Tesco shelf stacker is JUST as valid and important job. Expensive things are JUST STUFF, none of it will bring you happiness for more than a few months at most. And it ends up owning you. Yep - keep safe.
