  1. BULGARIA IS AS BAD AS THE UK Exactly the same per capita rate of Covid - BUT... BULGARIA HAS NOT HAD A GOVERNMENT FOR 10 MONTHS...!!! 3 general elections have not produced a winner. 4th about to start. SO a country with NO GOVERNMENT is doing as well as the Uk with a Tory Govt BUT... Even with NO GOVERNMENT, Bulgaria decided to lift 100% of its population out of relative poverty by the end of Oct 2021.

  2.  @peterw4338  Are you sure its available without an appointment? - cos I live there and it WAS for a brief period of time - then it was stopped, and the info available has been TERRIBLE - I'm waiting to get vaccinated. Its not desperate that I have one as I have HAD covid. The impression I get is not so much people are reluctant - they have kinda given up the rollout has been so utterly shambolic. Its a bit like the attitude to the track and trace app in the UK.

As Phil has just said, he was installed to do ONE job, yet he is still there, they have not yet got rid of him and it will be a VERY long time before they do. The tribalism in the country DOES NOT fuel Johnson. Johnson CREATED the tribalism in the country. Narcissists are always the same - they have their utterly DEVOTED followers who believe their every world and think they are closet to God. And the rest of the world who can see them for the idiots and liars they are and have no idea what anyone would fall for it. Trump was the same. And its always split about 30% believers and 60% disbelievers - the problem is in the USA and the UK those number along with the 5% to 10% who don't believe but are financially incentivised can win a general election and this is how Fascists Dictators come to power.

  7.  @walkingwithshadows  - I agree there is massive distrust in Boyko and his government and that may well be playing into it. Obviously, I only speak for the people I come into contact with and that's what - 50 people in one part of Burgas. So its not exactly a national survey. I can not claim to have made strenuous efforts to get vaccinated, I had covid last year so initially, I was of the opinion "let other people who need it get it first". Then I decided to get it after most of my elderly neighbours had got theirs only to find out the drop in centres here were only doing over 65's again... I will go today and find out in person cos its over a year since I had covid so my immunity will be dropping quite low now and the cases are sky high - probably time to put in some strenuous effort :-D

  8.  @walkingwithshadows  - OK - JUST BEEN TO THE HOSPITAL - unbelievably chaotic. Went to the Covid testing station - they had no idea, said go ask the reception. Asked reception they said "to to the big hospital in the centre" and then another woman overheard and said "He does not have to do that 1pm to 3pm today IF its his first shot not the 2nd" SOoooo. 1pm today HOPEFULLY I will get a vaccination - this is Bulgaria, having an appointment is not guarantee of success as I am sure you know LOL. But fingers crosses. And WHY only for the 1st shot at the local hospital...???? My speculation would be limited supplies and they are trying to get as many people as possible 1 shot? I don't know. Anyway - that's the update - Ill try and remember to comment later with the result of my 1pm drop in appointment.

  9.  @walkingwithshadows  - Well FINGERS CROSSED. I feel down the stairs to the apartment building and god a big hematoma on my ass - a big pool of blood in the muscle. The service I received at the hospital was AMAZING. I had 11 separate appointments 3 days apart - they did not want to operate as it would be a big cut and I would lose muscle tissue - but equally, if it became necessary they wanted to do it as quickly as possible to avoid any potential sepsis. They treated it with anti coagulants and various other stuff and in the end, it DID go away on its own with no opperation. And the longest I wanted at any visit was 20 minuts. I can not imagine I would have got anything like this treatment in the UK - it would have been pain killers and come back in 2 months "OUPS we need to operate" So on the clinical side, I have nothing but the highest praise for the local hospital - but the admin side is always hit and miss. Get the right person and you are golden, others know nothing. EDIT - the Doctor treating my hematoma told me NOT to go to the reception, just go straight to his kiosk after they told me he was not there one day - when he was...

A COUNTRY THAT HAS NOT HAD A GOVERNMENT FOR 10 MONTHS IS DOING A BIT WORSE THAN THE UK THAT HAS HAD A CONTINUOUS TORY GOVERNMENT FOR OVER A DECADE Forget the fact that Bulgaria's population is so small you CANT really make a comparison cos 1 bad month in the UK = total deaths in Bulgaria. But forget the statistical difficulty of comparing the two - you somehow think that NOT BEING AS BAD AS ONE OF THE WORST IN THE WORLD IS A GOOD THING?

  11.  @BENTWOONEZERO  - NO - ITS HAPPENED THIS YEAR that there is no government - and under normal circumstances, it would NOT have been an issue but the 2nd place party is the Mafia corruption supporting party that people are trying to get out. This means if now 1st + 1 other smaller party. Its 1st + 2 or 3 smaller parties needed to get the Mafia corruption party out. So its a very specific set of circumstances, which also involves the Mafia Corruption party DEFUNDING elections and making them privately funded - they used to be STATE funded, but they secured their private funding and then changed the law... Its the sort of back room antics that Boris Johnson is doing in the UK. They won't seem big - and many people support them - but all of a sudden one party has a massive advantage in what seems a fair election. Its called corruption on the Bulgarian GERB party and the UK Tory party are VERY GOOD AT IT.

  13.  @walkingwithshadows  IM VACCINATED...!!! yeah A bit thank you to the guys on here who informed me it was now open to everyone on a "drop in" basis. I think this may be very new hare as at 1.00pm when it started there were about 100 people waiting... They gave me a long form to fill in that I could not read [English - I can read some BG but this was complicated] I explained I could not reed and they just asked my name and passport number and that was that - apparently the A4 page of info the form requested was not important - !?!?!??! And I had a choice of which vaccine I wanted - having no clue I went for Pfizer. So that's my vaccine story...

But its exactly what I expect of you Ben, to mock a persons life long disability - I've left in my mistakes hear so you know how bad it is. Despete being severely dyclexic I now earn my living as a professional author. But I waited until I was 45 to he the confidence to do it cos all my people like YOU BEN took the piss out of me for my dissability. 25 years of my life waisted doing a job I hated cos of people like YOU...!!!

As has almost everyone in my life - including my teachers who literally just stopped trying to teach me in junior school. It was not until high school that a teacher realised this guy is not thick, he just can't read and write and the taught me in her spare time. So I'm making a point, please try not to judge people on their spelling and grammar and rather the content of their words...
