Essentially, low ability people do not possess the skills needed to recognize their own incompetence. The combination of poor self-awareness and low cognitive ability leads them to overestimate their own capabilities.

  3. I SPENT 25 YEARS negotiating reasonably large contracts - I was not even close to being competent to negotiate the Brexit deal - like 5% - 10% competent. Yet I had vastly MORE competence and experience than the entire UK negotiation team combined. The Dunning Kruger Effect in full display on a national critical issue...
