WHAT WILL SCOTLAND DO FOR MONEY Let me take a stab at that for you: 1) TOURISM currently the UK put most of its money into promoting London and London sees Scotland as a competitor - an independent Scotland with a couple of new airports BOOMING 2) Premium heritage products - whisky, salmon, highland beef, wool fabric, knit ware - basically, ANYTHING produced in Scotland has international cachet >>> more below If I start a small company making historical mens clothing as I am thinking of doing. I will locate it in Scotland IF Scotland is in the EU - the reason being is I can literally charge double. The problem Scotland has now if Englan sees it as a competitor for everything and a source of tax revenue V tax expenditure. Scotland is like the abused wife kept in financial destitution to stop her leaving. Scotland has MASSIVE international cachet that it is not allowed to use.

YEP - allowing Nestle to buy the company was the mistake. They are a horrific parasites. Here in Bulgaria they are buying out all the local brands, filling everything with sugar, reducing the size of the product - putting it in that air filled opaque packaging with an idealised picture on it, and switching production from the smaller local factories to one centralised automated factory for everything - this is probably where the Rolo production is being moved to...

@garyb455 - Sounds like a bit of a nut job statement there... Bit conspiritorial.

@justmythought7658 - Well I am borderline Type 1 diabetic as a result of pancreas damage. So I READ the labels and I don't eat sweets obviously. But its not just confectionery these Nestle tw4ts are buying out and filling with sugar. I have had to change my brand of morning yoghurt 3 times as they buy the company out, take out the cream and substitute sugar - and its a LOT 4.5g of added sugar per 100g = 22.6g of sugar per 500g pot ONLY its NOT a 500g pot any longer - its 400g. They have bought out the bread companies and the bread now contains sugar...!!! When I moved here 13 years ago foreign companies could not own BG ones. But they changed the law. When I moved here 11% of the population were obese - now its 25%. I went 3 YEARS before I saw my first fat person - no joke EVERYONE was slim, and they eat a LOT of fat here - literally pig fat is a thing they eat salted. So it is clearly NOT the fat making them fat - its the SUGAR that Nestle and the others are putting in stuff. Sorry for the long comment - this is a particular bug bear of mine as I am reduced to eating about 4 things. Meat, green vegetables, cheese and peanuts cos everything else has sugar in it now.

@benjamin2149 - I agree - I kinda tried to allude to that with this line "If I start a small company making historical mens clothing as I am thinking of doing. I will locate it in Scotland IF Scotland is in the EU - the reason being is I can literally charge double" In that its English speaking and has access to the EU and has the kudos of being "Made in Scotland" and that really means something internationally. I dont think that Scotland will have any problems with GDP long term and I am 1005 sure the EU will help them in the short term whilst they transition.

I THINK THE EU WILL FAST TRACK SCOTLAND into membership, I also think they will significantly support them financially €€€€ in the transition and the early days. Say what you want - the EU want Brexit to fail, that's not a conspiracy, that just pragmatism. Brexit has done a GREAT job of shutting up all the nationalists in other EU countries. And the French are historic allies of the Scottish so they will push like hell and grease the rollers to make it as smooth as possible and successful as possible. 2030 Glasgow will look like Dubai 😀

@justmythought7658 - this is what I am ACTUALLY anti-Globalist whilst being anti-Brexit. IF Brexit were a 15 to 20-year plan to de couple and be more self sufficient with British owned companies running British factories I would have voted for it. But its not, its an idiotic plan to destroy the economy and standard of living.
