I GENUINELY THINK these people believe their own BS about Brexit. Boris and the rest that went to these public schools are taught to BELIEVE in themselves, that THEY know what's best and its force of personality and leadership and simply being privileged that wins the day. These schools are still pumping out the "Leaders Of Empire" as if they are a viceroy to rule over millions with 200 troops... They are NOT taught to question themselves.

@MsMissX - OH - for ruling an empire with very limited resources it is EXACTLY what you need. But it makes for very bad leaders when you have lost that empire and you are a tiny country run by people who still think they are running an empire, cos they do stupid things like BREXIT.

@immir6647 - The Americas have their ridiculous "Protestant Work Ethic" which says if you don't work yourself to death - its a personal failing to be ashamed of. The British have this ingrained belief that the privileged are better than us, they know better than us, that our position is to do what they say. I live in Bulgaria and I am basically a communist these days LOL, but I find myself automatically respecting these figures and I have to check myself and think "NO, he is a lying A-hole, just cos she speaks with authority and uses Latin quips does not make him correct" It is engendered in us from birth and it is incredibly difficult to counter. Its automatic without us knowing. Part of it is psychology - people believe and trust calm, confident people. That is the reason that are taught to BE calm and supremely confident at public school. 8/10 times people will believe that person over the enthusiastic expert.

@MsMissX - I live in Bulgaria now and the opinion on the Uk from the mainland is they deserve punishing for being such A-holes and call the trouble they have caused everyone. Just FYI.

@jonathanwetherell3609 - I have less issue with selecting the top 20% than selecting the richest 1% and then educating them on 100 year old text books. I watched a lecture by Chris Hedges the American war correspondent. He read some passages from the text books Boris actually learned from at school. Here is a quote: "How to give orders to Pickanninies" What kind of person is THAT going to create - a Boris Johnson obviously.

@hugogreen4916 - Putting it very simply [Im an author in the field of psychology BTW] 33% of people just REALLY like to be told what to do, they like to feel protected, they like follow a "strong" leader, and they simply;y LOVE borders and walls. And this 33% is pretty exclusively the right wing. another 33% simply don't care, they will vote for whatever is in their head at any given time, if they have time to think about it - they will. But mostly they vote for what seems like a quick solution. Finally, 33% question everything, these are usually left wing and educated, at a minimum they are capable of critical thinking. These are the ones ALL politicians hate.
