I ALWAYS SAID BREXIT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN cos the UK was short of the 50,000 civil servants we needed to manage the functions the EU had taken over... Also Northern Ireland. I was WRONG - I had not banked on a government so inane they didn't care if the country collapsed.

2 1/2 YEARS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A PASSPORT my application can not even be found, the application number does not even relate to a file - it has VANISHED... Along with my money, my Bulgarian ID card [that they insisted I send the original off], and all my documents. They say they cant help cos there is LITERALLY no application on the system.

@nicks4934 THANKFULLy it does not really affect me as I dont intend to travel, I have long covid so its not even a thing I am contemplating. The only real effect is my Bulgarian bank account is frozen as they require a valid passport from your country of birth for anti money laundering purposes so my brother has to send my income every month by Moneygram. But its just symptomatic of the UK. My sister has had to spend about £9,000 on psychological help for her child having waited 3 years on the NHS... As Phil says NOTHING WORKS

@verystripeyzebra the thing is - I applied online - there isn't even a record on the computer system.

@verttikoo2052 YES - they wont give you a passport without the original docs. I was really REALLY unhappy at the time, thankfully I took copies and for most things so far they have sufficed.
