CAN I JUST POINT OUT that the German aviation company Lufthansa flew shipments of food to Doncaster when France closed the border last year... It was a thank you and return for the Berlin Airlift flights that left daily from Doncaster; this as hardly reported at the timed...

@chriswills9437 - I think it was disgusting that it was basically unreported. I think that was so astonishingly rude - but obviously, its like the 1914 Christmas Day armistice isn't it - you cant have people liking the enemy...

@Jay...777 - IM an author. My next book is on the collapse of civilisation in America and how to cope with it psychologically...

@Jay...777 - I moved to Bulgaria 12 years ago. One of the reasons was to move out of an unstable geographical area re weather. If you remember there was a period where it rained for basically 3 years solid and the UK had massive floods in summer, that was when I moved. When I came here we used to get winters at -25ºC with 1m of snow and summers of +45ºC. NOw the trees are dying cos the parasites are not being killed off in winter - it only gets below zero for a few hours a year and we don't get snow. It appears there is NO hiding from the effects... Part of preparing psychologically is accepting it will be bad, life may not be anything like we are used to. Especially in the USA - definitely in the USA.

@bokhans - Oh, are you one of these grammar nazis who think being an author is about spelling and punctuation. Well guess what I'm very highly dyslexic as well - but I have news for you. Being an author is about telling a story, it's about communicating knowledge in an engaging and accessible way. It's not about "that’s not even a proper sentence!" I have story editors for the structure and proofreaders for the spelling and grammar. And as it happens, no I am not self-published, I have a publishing agent. My books get 4.8* on GoodReads and 4.7* on Amazon. But you know what? I don't start this career until I was 45. I worked a job I hated - you know why??? Cos of people like YOU criticising my spelling and my grammar and making me feel inferior for my dyslexia. Well screw the lot of you grammar nazis - I now make my entire living, pay 100% of my bills from MY writing. And YES this is a rant, cos I have 45 years of you guys saying crap like this to me to get out of my system.

YOU ONLY DEVELOP THE INSTINCT TO COVER UP MISTAKES if there have been negative consequences in your life FOR MISTAKES. If other people have always cleared up the mess you make whilst you swan off to the next adventure - you don't develop the shame needed to cover up mistakes.
