NOTHING WORKS I've been waiting for a passport for 3 years - they lost my entire application including all my supporting documents - which THEY insisted be the ORIGINAL documents They have not just lost the paper bits, the application does NOT EXIST on the computer - luckily I took screenshots of every step of the process and the emails they sent me confirming it and confirming someone had verified by photo. Its causing me a nightmare - looks like I will have to get a solicitor and / or the British Embassy onto it

  4.  @johnm2012 - I'm a British citizen living in Bulgaria and Im now TECHNICALLY illegal as I dont have a BG ID card cos the Passport Office LOST IT and I cant get a replacement without a UK Passport. My apartment block has 3 border police officers living in it, so its not an issue - but it will cost me about €120 for a new ID card. And it cost me £125 I think for the overseas passport application so if I have to pay again it will have cost me about £370 + any solicitors fees.

  5.  @johnrussell3961 - Yeah it was an online application but then you had to print off a letter and enclose your supporting documents. Then they sent me a notice they were delayed due to covid and to be patient. Then the next time I looked - "sorry this number does not match any application made" and the number is correct as its a screen capture, then I wrote to them and they ignored me - multiple times and that is basically as far as I have got - they just ignore me.
