WHEN I WAS 18 I STARTED WORK AT THE YORKSHIRE POST NEWSPAPER - 1988 my starting salary was £8,250 + Bonus that made it £10k According to the Bank Of England Inflation Calculator that is equal to £29,930.35 basically my starting salary as an 18 year old in telesales was £30k THAT is how much salaries have dropped in the UK.
