Its their own fault. WELL - if it affects them, even a little bit, cant afford the Moet, have to by the Aldi champers, well "IM Not feckless and lazy and IM struggling, this is REAL" And its the REAL part that matters. Its no longer the fault of the poor, the cost of living crisis is REAL at this point most can not avoid empathy for the poor, cos they are now persecuted, not lazy.
