WATCHED ALL 7 HOURS OF IT it was unbelievably stunning... QUOTE: “Any system that allows people as totally incompetent as myself and Boris Johnson to be in charge of a nation let alone a nation in the middle of a pandemic is very clearly BROKEN" EDIT - It is genuinely worth watching the full 7 hours if you can cos the important bits are not the salacious bits the news will report...

@allen5513 Did I say I believe him or did I say "QUOTE"??? You really should learn how to comprehend. This is the problem in the UK and America with people being functionally illiterate. They CAN read but they don't possess the ability to process the words. That said, you should also learn how to write QUOTE "He now for revenge so simply??" what is that supposed to mean???

@channeleightythree083 - For me, the most shocking parts were the critique of the systems and the way politics is run and incentivised today. He said [paraphreased] "we are governed by meme and soundbite and not by intelligent long term thinking and planning" He also said the electoral system needs changing - the are thousands of people in this country vastly more qualified and capable of running the country than anyone in the upper levels of government and the civil service and that the system actively discriminates against the brilliant people lower down the system and filters out their advice.

@helenswan705 - Phil was being disingenuous there - DC profusely apologised on at least a dozen occasions. He took full responsibility for his part in it and directly apologised to those who had lost people for his part in it. FYI - I was NOT expecting this.

@jammybarsteward593 - why are you attacking me??? What have I don't except post a quotation that people may find interesting?? What is missing in YOUR life that this is the way you treat people who are simply trying to be helpful and informative to others?? This is very broken behaviour.

@channeleightythree083 - He went after the press as well. My worry is that his incredibly devastating criticism of the systemic failures of the UK political system that ALLOW this to happen will be lost in the Johnson bashing. His point was basically "this system is doomed to fail, it elects clowns that can get attention, motivates them by the next day's headlines and suppresses talented people cos talented people either make the clowns look bad to stop the clowns getting the next days headlines" He literally said "I was a part of this system and people like me should never be allowed in government. I am not a clever or talented person" These are the truly shocking things to me - not what crass thing Bojo said...

@helenswan705 - NO categorically not. He literally said and this is a quote "I think it would be better for me and this country if no one ever hears of me again" I got the impression that he is a man who has the weight of tens of thousands of needless deaths on his shoulders and he wanted to unload the guilt. It was NOTHING like I was expecting. He did not doge one scintilla of guilt or responsibility. It was nothing like I was expecting. He basically said "we had absolutely no idea what we were doing and no plan at any point and we were INCAPABLE of forming a plan cos no one in government has the basic competence to be there - including myself" He called the handling "criminally incompetent" Honestly - it is genuinely worth watching the 7 hours. Its not the headline "Boris said nasty things" bits that are shocking, its the explanation of hos the entire political system is heard up to elect utterly incompetent people and to keep competent people OUT of the top levels... He called for radical reform of the electoral process to stop clowns getting elected. It was STUNNING.

@channeleightythree083 - Well basically he said [I'm not saying this] "we thought we were clever and competent and it turns out we were clowns" But he did say "the system needs to be changed to prevent people like me and Bojo ever being elected again" I paraphrase. He also sid that even with the technical people in the civil service - the SYSTEM stops the clever and talented from getting to the top and then the idiots suppress the clever people's advice and opinions.

@geoffobrien1783 - It is the criticism of the SYSTEM that allows people like him and Bojo and Hancock to be elected that is the important take away in my opinion. A system as he said that rewards clowns. He said there are literally thousands of people in the UK vastly more capable and qualified than ANYONE in the top of government today...

Thats only a thing in the minds of idiots.

@carolekinson2412 - OH - TAHNK YOU.

@susannehartl3067 - I know - Imagine on the day things got really bad that has trump wanting to bomb Iran and Princess Nut Nutts screaming about her dog story - unbelievable...

@CovidIslandDiscs - I must have been making a sandwich at that point cos I missed that...

@Eddie Hitler - NOT what I was expecting...

@TheSynthnut QUOTE "His observations on how broken the whole system is were on point" for me this was the BIG take away. i.e. "the system we use to select politicians and top civil servants is utterly broken - it selects incompetent people who actively fear and suppress capable people cos they see them as a threat" I think that is a perfect description of politics in 2021 - election by Meme.

@G_C340 - Right - thanks...
