@Dan_1348 - Well what about the people who inherit a house or a business - THEY are not doing the work for it. LET ME GUESS - that's different. YES its different cos they had the PUR BLIND GOOD LUCK to be born into a family of means SO THEY DESERVE SOMETHING FOR NOTHING but poor people don't deserve anything. Give people the opportunity to actually START something. MY SISTER paid my living expenses for 18 months whilst I wrote my first book..!!! Now I am self sufficient - if I had not been unbelievably lucky that my sister happened to get planning permissionn a bit of land and have some money at that time - this would never have happened. Why does a poor person without a lucky and wonderful sister not deserve the chance that I had???

So if you are in a managerial position, or you own a company, or you get income from capital assets - then under your scheme - you got to give those up - cos that is NOT the fruits of your labour. That is either unearned income or the fruits of someone else's hard work that you are stealing. You see what you are arguing for here is Marxism and I am 100% behind you comrade. EVERYONE should be able to keep the fruits of their labour. I never guessed you were so open minded. MAYBE you should have put a little more effort into thinking this one through.

@therealrobertbirchall - I GET AN EFFECTIVE UBI OF ABOUT £600 from the sales of my books - it just comes in every month. I am WAY more active in a wide range of things from studying to donating my time to charity to writing more books to learning a trade [tailoring]. One of the things I researched for my next book is the myth that poor people are lazy and if you give people UBI they will sit on their ass and not work. Turns out, not true. DEPRESSED and ill people are lazy [for very good reasons], happy people are very active people...

@iscadean6038 - Here in Bulgaria everyone gets child benefit and unemployment benefit etc in vouchers. Nearly all benefits are paid in vouchers. Because of this there is zero stigma to paying with vouchers. People driving S-Clas Mercedes pay in vouchers.
