  2.  @Dylanesque  - that was the point I thought he might be doomed. I thought the Tories knew that the only thing keeping most of them alive was the opposition parties NOT making this a personal mud slinging competition and that out of a desire to NOT have it slung at them - they might punish Johnson for starting it. I think my miscalculation was believing that the Tory MP's thought about things...
