The idea of cutting of party funding, of releasing embarrassing stories etc is going to have less and less power over MP's as they increasingly become PEOPLE to their voters, they can TELL their voters exactly what they have done for them, and stand up to the party machine is likely to get them MORE followers on Facebook and Tic Tok. the whip system is a 19th century solution to discipline in a 21st century world. However, the most likely scenario in a first past the post system is a grid locked government who cant get anything done...
